So I still the domain name + email + msn messenger and then Kill The Right Owner !?
Right ?

Thieves that call the name of God in vain get their accounts terminated :D

Yes member has been banned.

There is a pending reversal on his membership upgrade as well.

The real owner submitted a ticket to our support desk saying his computer and credit card details were comprimised.

I went ahead and banned the user before he scams anyone else.

Too many scammers these days on DNF :veryangry:
Mods please make ACRO mod so he can kick in the *** in 2 minutes every scammer come in.
We loose hours every day to talk with these rats.
It's time to make some changes here.

I can't be a mod; I need at least two hours of sleep every night :D

I agree. The forum will lose credibility if this continues.

I would suggest some form of "cooling period" for new members, ie can buy immediately, but can not sell for 30 days after signing up...something to slow these guys down.

Nah, I'd say stay exclusive then you can do the dirty work with DNF so when you're calling someone out they won't take it as DNF is calling them that, just a veteran member.

I think the opposite. Acro has been instrumental (as well as Johnn, Impactadmin, and Mediahound) in stopping several scam artists so it is teaching them (the scam artists) not to come here. I'd rather be a member of a community that has several failed scams go though than one or two successful ones.

Acro and the board management have done a great job covering all the bases and making sure that the official DNF accusations are without a doubt true before any action is taken.

When Acro is on your case, you might as well call it quits.

This is a good idea but what would stop them from registering, then building up a reputation with some useful posts then hitting us with the scam 30-40 days later? Not all have used stolen Paypal accounts (and other payment methods).

This is the kind of thing that really makes it hard to trust anyone! It also shows how important it is to have the "Who is " up to date and also what a valuable tool it can be! Nice job!

Am I reading this correctly?

With all of the doubt presented, you were still considering purchasing the domain
if you could get it for $ 4.5K?

If so, you are part of the problem.
Willing to buy a domain that might have been hi-jacked if you could get it for the "right price".

Don't you realize this opens the door about your other domains?

If you were joking. Please don't do that again.
A newbie will think that it is "ok" to buy questionable domains.
That is the last thing our industry needs.

hahaha vote acro for mod and we have party everyday....

Cheers to you theo.

EM @KING.NET

Yeah, we'll call "1234667" in Hong Kong.

Also: do not contact anyone you don't know using MSN or any other chat software or you'll risk having your computer compromised.

As I said, this number in the WHOIS is just voicemail. It can be anywhere in the world.

Stay with email, and don't use IM

so what happened ? Did anyone find the real owner..

It is good that we didnt allow him to scam us but it is indeed not fair to let him scam others knowing that he is a scammer...For all I know he could be scamming someone on the other forum or someone at sedo...

I was the first to pm him the offer - he countered, I countered - saw some problems in the thread, so I said I will still take the deal via escrow if it's "LEGIT"

Don't see how I'm part of the problem

It is a pity that so many respected members refuse DNforum verification

"All of a sudden", our Chinese guy became Arab. WHOIS shows:
Scammers are apart of the industry unfortuneatly like other industries. While there are scammers, you can be sure our members here and mod crew will find them.

Everyone here looks out for each other which is why the forum can grow the way it does!

Johnn said:
and why your IP address is in UK and Iran when the admin contact name and address is in the US?
Acro said:
Whoever is selling it now put some older (2000) info in the WHOIS, in order to fake that they are the same person.

So these two guys are just shooting the breeze because they have nothing better to do?

How could you NOT see this as a scam or didn't you read the thread .. or possibly your vision became blurred with greedy excitement of getting a stolen domain for 4.5k?

If you can't see that you ARE part of the problem because of your greed then that's another part of the problem altogether.
