The new gTLD for the German state Bavaria, .bayern got off to a flying start this week with 18,677 registrations on Day 1 of General Availability.
The current number of registrations for the domain is 20,396.
It is ranked 21 on a list of 417 new gTLDs in terms of number of registrations.

Bavaria is Germany's largest state by area and second largest by population with around 12.5 million inhabitants.
