If your name is Kinko, or you can show that you're not using the name in bad faith, I think a UDRP is far from a slam-dunk.

What's the name worth in the interim, though? Without the "s" (Kinkos), I'd think you could make a case for keeping it.

But what do I know? :)

You seem to know how to catch names :p

That's one thing.

Maybe BD got a nasty email from their lawyers? And instead of asking to transfer it, maybe they just ask that it cease from use and they allow it to drop.
Not uncommon, I don't think.

It is a lot more likely than "Maybe". BD does not drop good domains for no reason. For your information, Kinko is an Asian first name. So, there are people out there named Kinko who might be interested in the name. I know for a fact that Kinko's (now owned by Fedex) has a law firm working for them on domain issues. To me, the surprising thing is that the law firm did not figure that it was in the best interest of Kinko's to just offer BD $2,000 for Kinko.com. Instead it appears that they asked Kinko's to let the domain expire.

Did they really think that no one else will reg this name? Anyone out there named Kinko should bid like hell at Pool or wherever the name ends up. At least we know that BD will not be competing for the domain on the drop. I might even change my name to Kinko and pursue it :>)
