I believe when .tv was introduced, premium names sold for much higher prices than .info. Apparently, .tv prices for premium registrations are off 75% and more. I for one learned a lesson.
I think its a mistake to assume a pretty extension will become a household brand. I cant see beyond dotcom for USA applications.
2-word names are advertised on us tv,like priceline.com, ditech.com, lendingtree.com.... these are UNLIMITED in supply. This is a big disincentive for corporations to pay for creativity. Also, it is a disincentive to invest in generic nondotcoms. The combo makes resale difficult.
