Been Getting these Strange Emails

Just wondering if you know this person or organization? I've been getting emails from an ip address showing as (EDITED) XXX.XXX.XXX.XX Lansing Michigan. On email puts from C M and signs off as Chris

The email is--- I'll leave blank for now @Hotmail.com He says I have experience and about 1000 domains at a parking company..What Information are you looking for?

Also asking me for 10 of my domain names and says more information needed.

Stranger part is When I look up the ip address it shows from Lansing Michigan but hosted from Hostname: smtpout.michigan.gov and IP Address Organization: Michigan State Government.

Any help with this is appreciated. I'm looking for help in other places as well.

There's no crime, so I wouldn't dial 911 here but I'm just curious why someone is contacting me from a Government ip address asking strange questions.

Just unusual but it might not be anything bad.

I posted it here wondering if anyone knew who it was or was getting the same emails.

I've calmed down now. Kinda freaked when I saw Michigan government. Not that anyone is doing anything wrong but it just cought me off guard.

Maybe the guy will show me something good Who knows?

What this means is that someone is using an intentionally left open mail relay. It's like a proxy, except it's there to gather data about whoever is using it.

The person contacted me today and straightened everything out:upset:, in a way.

I'm erasing the ip I posted in the first post of this thread so not to cause the person any problems. The person says they were responding from a post I made here.

I explained to the person that if they had introduced theirself even in a half A$$ fashion I'd have not ever posted this thread here.

Total waste of time.
