I would very much appreciate your appraisals of this domain:

BenFrank (dot) com

... I have listed it for sale but not yet set a price, I have been approached by a potential buyer, he has not suggested any price.

Ben Frank is, of course, slang for the $100 bill which features a portrait of American patriot and inventor Benjamim Franklin, a pivotal figure in American history.

Given the money connection, I would imagine that the best use for this domain would relate to some form of financial service, money-saving coupons or gambling.

There are no less that three different rappers currently performing under the name Ben Frank:

myspace.com/benfrankjr100

cdbaby.com/cd/franklinbenjamin (2008 album titled "My Name Ben Frank")

unsigned.com/benfrank

... apparently money and associations of wealth are rather important to rappers :)

There is also a motion, print and Web designer at BenFrankDesign.com, seems to be a genuine/established business and whose Twitter is @BenFrank

There is also an ex-International hockey player and now hockey trainer in Toronto: BenFrankHockey.com

... and a professional photographer in Nashville: BenFrankPhotography.com

... and various other small businesses such as diners, I only looked at the first page of Google results.

So, what do you think, what would be a good price to accept from a buyer who has approached me?

I very much appreciate any and all advice.

I have never heard anyone say "Ben Frank" in relation to a $100 bill. I have heard "Franklin", "Ben Franklin", and "Benjamin Franklin" for that usage.

The domain does not have any major reseller value, but there are a handful of decent end users.

Unless someone really wants it, something in the low - mid $XXX range end user.

Thanks Brad - I'm not American, so, I wasn't aware of the exact usage. An American friend has mentioned it in context of coyly offering a bribe, "Have you met my friend Ben Frank?" but, obviously from what you say, that is not a widespread usage.

So, you figure about $500 tops? My general policy is not to sell anything, really, for less than a grand - I figure that any domain .com is worth at least that much to someone with specific plans, but that might be out-of-step with the actual market.

Very interested in hearing more opinions.

It is the type of domain that is worth what someone is willing to pay really. One of those handful of end users might really want it.

Personally speaking, if you could get Mid $XXX I would take it. That money is far better invested in quality generics @ reseller prices. They have far more potential upside.
