I am also interested in your experiences in this area. There have been many rumours as to which service is most effective. If you are feeling very ambitious, how about telling us who has the best scripts and contacts with registrars.

Thanks.

It is my clear impression that snapnames is the best according to what I have read about them.

Alone the fact that they work together with 16 registrars and thus gain a HUGE bandwidth to the registry sounds cool.

However I am still waiting for a domain to expire to see whether snapnames gets it :)

I got a number of snapbacks on short very cool generic .coms that expire within 6 months (and the sites are dead as well). If only I get a few of those domains I'll be very happy indeed! :)

I got a question for you.

How does it work, if lets say 100 people all throw down (i believe its 64 bucks at snapnames) on the same domain, how does Snapnames determine who is going to be the one who gets it?

And are there any other costs besides that 64 or 68 dollar fee?

thanks

while others like snapnames , it has Never worked for me on any quality, generic .com that i have ever used it for. When it first started up there was actually a page telling you what your chances were to get a domain. i believe one of the examples was that if you were going for a top generic domain(i believe the example was a 3 letter .com) your chance of getting it thru their service was about 3 %. i dont know how that compares with today since they no longer show statistics.
i wish i owned a company that promises nothing and charges 60 for that privilege

I've found the best way to get the names you want is to go out and buy yourslef a few registrars, so you can use their batch connections exclusively for grabbing high value names.

I'm just waiting for the economy to COMPLETELY collapse so that I can scoop up the remainder that I don't own already.

I don't understand. If the economy collapses, how would you THEN be able to scoop up more names.

Plus, I don't think the economy is going to collapse. I think its going to begin a recovery fairly soon.
