If I'm selling my domain on Sedo for example and it allows me to open a public auction with my domain, what is the best possible end time for the auction and what end days should I avoid.

I'm thinking:

Have the auction end on Monday - Thursday at:

1pm PT (West Coast)

4pm (East Coast)

9pm GMT (Europe)

8am (Australia)

Am I right or wrong in your opinion?

I would want it to end outside of regular working hours. 6-7PM EST friday would be my choice. That gives enough time for people to have a drink & bid wildy after they got their paycheck if they have a regular job here in the US, and hopefully the folks in the UK & EU would still be awake & already drunk. I know it screws up the Aussies, but most sales I make are made to people in the US or EU.

I have had the best success with ending my auctions between 7-9PM EST. I too am in the US and typically target them the most so this has worked best for me. I tried a lot of different times and I think you are on the right track. I think it depends also on what domain and which country would be the most interested and base the ending time around that.

It seems that is the best suggestion in here as for me. In any case I suppose you used to by your domain names on Friday's eve? ;)
