bestresort.info - what do you think?

Could be a portal for travel agents. All resorts, sorted, organized, illustrated, with travel agency info and ads. Could be a massive project, no? .info is better then .com in tnis case, as it stands gor a more general approach where you get to pick the place you would like to visit and the agent you would like to deal with, versus some one agency selling their services on the .com

What do you guys think about this one?

Huh? To me, this is the classic example where "BestResortInfo.com" would clearly be the ideal ... and logical complement to your domain should you decide to one day develop, or resell.
Good Luck.

I have to disagree. The .info stands on its own much better than info.com, and I don't think the infocoms are worth wasting reg fees. Just seems a desperate attempt to reformat .info into a .com. You don't need it.

No problem ... of course, both time will tell and until then, there are no "wrong" answers. We're all in this together, so let's keep talking and appraising, appraising and talking ... Good Luck! :)

Well, IMHO, there's an issue here and potentially a "wrong answer". The issue is what could be the consequences of the repeated and unabated advice of regging "info-com" or "Biz-Com" or Us-Com" combos in addition to the proper (new) tld, if heeded to. I'd argue that the taker of such advice is much more likely than not to loose money on his/her reg fees on such irrational defensive regs. I've repeatedly given examples of new tld names that I've either sold or have received offers for; for most of these names the elongated .com-atached versions are available for anyone to reg. I specifically gave a list of my .INFO sale data inviting Cool H to show us how to make profit by regging the elongated .com-ending versions of these names; he said, he'd consider that. So Cool H why not put your $$ where your mouth is....after all these are the names that have actually sold anywhere from $1k to above $5K..why wait?

The consequences of such "defensive" action are unkown, at this time. You and others have an opinion that it could become lost money. I and others agree that it could be a cheap registration fee well spent. Again, at this time ... there are no wrong answers.
Why argue it to death? You don't know for sure, nor do I.
PS. I am still considering your proposal ... but I haven't come to a final decision in the barely twenty-four hours since it was proposed. My Goodness, I'm not running away from it ... and YOU will be the first to know of my decision. Thanks.
Good Luck.

BestResortInfo.com reminds me of the good ol'days of dotcom madness :)

Some members here are not aware, or do not care to be aware, of the current move by ICANN towards the taxonomy of namespace into more meaningful parts.

But strictly from an aesthetics point of view, BestResortInfo.com looks uglier than BestResort.info. The latter looks more definite and inviting. That's a no brainer.

Today, I use search engines almost exclusively to find what I want, and a authoritative sounding/looking URL that goes with the search results tends to get my click attention up more. Its easy to con newbies that the so called "newbies" that a dotcom ending is a "must" for type-ins, but please save the hay for the horses.
