No. All services are independent.

If you are the ONLY one who places an order on this particular domain at ALL backordering services, yes, you are competing against yourself. But it doesn't really matter, except that you may end up paying more if e.g. Pool wins ($60) instead of GoDaddy ($18). However, we all know that chance is rather slim; even half-decent names are much sought after these days. In the rare case when I think nobody else would be interested or the domain is not worth even $60, I'll place an order with the either eNom or GoDaddy. Of course in other cases, make sure your bids are placed everywhere and be prepared for some serious post-drop bidding. ;)

Thanks for the reply:
Some of these services require I put in a min bid. I guess this is my perceived value for the domain name. What is the safe bid to make to insure my chances are greater then average?

Well if you use Pool, and they get the name, you will potentially have to bid against yourself, even if you are the only one bidding! Because in the sealed bidding phase you have no idea how much, if any, others are bidding. And beware that your initial bid is not a proxy bid, so even with no other bidders you will have to pay the whole amount you entered (in phase one).

But that's a different issue. You could bid at eNom and Namewinner, and watch the bids closely prior to drop time. If you aren't outbid at Namewinner, and the CLubDrop bid stays at $10, there is a good chance you don't need to use Pool or Snapnames. But there is always a risk, and other players in the game may grab the name without using any of the drop services.

Ya thats happened to me a few times...what a complete crock of doodoo system that is. Ended up probably paying 400 more than I should have...
and is the reason I will rarely if ever use pool again. Its no different than stealing from us.

There's also dropcatcher.DE. They got a domain that I'd asked for at Pool and SN (SnapNames). If it's a name that isn't super and you just care some, I'd use Go Daddy. If you're sure you want to spend $30 - 60 or more then the auction companies are good. Pool is especially potent but they DO let you bid against yourself!! Lovely folks they are BUT if you really want it...

Recently I was in for a taken in .COM only name at Pool, SN, Go Daddy, and Name Winner but forgot ENOM. They got it. You've got to use anything that you can if you really want a name. Conversley, I've caught some surprisingly good names with Go Daddy that were asked for everywhere (once or twice by me) so my advise is not to forget them plus if they do get it it's cheap. Whatever you forget will likely get it and then you'll run into Buy Domains, Ultimate Search, or discover a new catcher you hadn't know about much of the time, unfortunately.

Good Luck!!

Snapnames seem to have snapped quite a few good names. And enom does not use proxy bidding. So beware :)

Yeah, eNom Club Drop uses proxy. Actually, it is almost impossible to bid without a proxy. And of course, you'll need to know how to place one, I mean tactically. ;)

Besides putting a proxy of a couple of thousands tactically, what other means is there?
