We're please to announce that our very popular site is now up for sale.

FASTANDFURIOUSEAST.com

With the site we're offering a complete redesign/upgrade of the layout and functions including some (if not all) database implementation, retail/shopping cart functions, 6 months hosting, and assistance with setting up wholesale/retail product accounts. We may also include a plan to continue providing content and/or features through the end of the season. The greatest value from this site is it's traffic and sizeable following.

This site also has established relationships with the industries top media suppliers such as Grip Video, Live Sockets Entertainment, and 360VM along with nationally recognized parts, accessories, and clothing distributors. We can assist with setting up retail accounts and converting the site to a retail oriented web destination. Best way to take advantage of this opportunity is to covert the site to a retail oriented web destination. We'll certainly help turn the sites success into a profitable future for the new owners. The current site layout is simple yet purposeful. Our goal was to provide space for advertisers while delivering information quickly. We can rebuild the site to any layout you desire.

FFE is one of the most widely recognized enthusiast sites in the world. Though it is automotive oriented, demographics fall right in line with many industries.

Is there any revenue being generated? With the cost of that server do you make any profit?

Yes. Due to size, content and peak rush times we had no other choice but to go with a dedicated server. However cost ($100 per/m) is relatively nil with sites like these. Cost is easily covered with one advertising banner. Outside of server, anything generated through this site will be pure profit for you which is why we'll help convert the site to a more retail oriented outlet. We can set this up to sell anything from DVD/videos, games, t-shirts/clothing, photo reprints, and (of course) advertising space.

Here's a schedule of advertising rates: RATES & FEES

Thanks for the reply.

he didn't ask for advertising rates. A potential buyer such as I want to know gross and net revenues that YOU make each month..

The reason I posted the rates was to give an idea on rates as a guidline. However WE make our money a little differently... Being that we're very active within the industry, we used the barter system when it come to advertising and marketing. So gross and net to us is a completely different story than gross/net to a potential buyer.

Aside from this website we own a marketing firm, deal in products, organize events, etc. So within the industry we often utilized advertising as a way to leverage favors such as valuable booth/exhibition space at an event, advertising on a DVD or video series, paid travel expenses, etc. These things are of much more value to us as we travel, display, and market our products. In short, in exchange for dollar amounts we accepted resources that would help us grow.

I understand that potential buyers are interested in gross/net numbers. Those number I do not have available due to the reasons I mentioned above. So to best answer the question, gross profit is translated into increased sales for us. And we had a very successful year. Net profit is our sales minus expenses. Our only expense for running the site is approx. $100 per month.

So being that we understand that a buyer is more interested in generating profit directly through the site, we offered to parlay our relationships throughout the industry into sales accounts. At that point you will be making a lot more money through the site than we did. We used the site to further our other ventures and it worked with great success. Thus putting us into a position to be able to sell the site and follow those other opportunities.

Now we want to see the site become a useful tool anyone else who wants to use it (for profit or otherwise). As I mentioned before, in the sales package we're offering a complete site redesign/upgrade including database and shopping cart functions. We can also continue to provide advertising and marketing to keep industry ties stong.

Wherever we go, we will be marketing our projects... If you so choose, we can continue to promote this site (translated = free advertising). We're basically offering our assistance to ensure the site continues on it's path to success while helping the new owners turn a profit. I'm not aware of too many sellers willing to do that.

Hope the info was helpful. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. I'm selling the site because we really need to concentrate more on our other projects. We built the site in order to provide a respectable alternative to automotive newstand publications. The project got much bigger and way more popular than I ever anticipated. Many other opportunities came our way as a result of this site's success. We decided to pursue some of those other opportunities.

Over the next several months we're launching a new marketing firm, film division, and specialty motors operation. The new workload won't allow us to tend to the site the way we used to. No better time to sell it than when it's most popular!

Thanks again for the reply.

Understand what you are saying re you get fringe benefits from the traffic but fail to grasp why with such a high traffic website you would not have any income stats at all?

With all that traffic you could even make good money from google adsense without selling products yourself so it seems odd you do not run adsense on the site or offer any of your own products and affiliate programs? If I had a site with all that fame, connections and traffic I would never dream of not doing so.

Does the site have any actual income at all? What is your asking price? May we please see a link to your stats rather than you publishing the figures as its important to look at the referrer logs, etc?

Why is the fact that we're not running adsense odd? If you're implying that we're making things up, there's absolutely no reason to do so. Better for me not to post at all than to post a bunch of false statements. The answer regarding adsense is simple. Not all of us are geared towards that type of advertising or generating dollars via that method. We're in the automotive industry. Our goal was to sell products and generate recognition. The site was simply a tool, not a source of income.

While many on this board tend to build sites geared towards Google pr, adsense, etc. We simply built a site for auto enthusiasts. The purpose for the site was to provide good content while building a name for ourselves. If you look at the majority of sites out there relatively few run adsense (that I see). I never heard of adsense until visiting this board. So please take that into consideration when assuming that everyone has the same intentions when building a site and generating money.

Accual income for us came from product sales. Does the site generate income? Definitely, we used it as a marketing tool that increased sales and exposure many times over. Enough to afford us the opportunity to launch our own marketing firm, film projects, and specialty auto division. This is worth much more to us than adsense. I don't even know how much money is generated through adsense. If adsense generates more profit than actual product sales then I appologize for missing the boat. I'll look into adsense and consider converting if it's more profitable. If not then I'll pass on the adsense route. Thanks for the suggestion though.

So no, it's not odd that we never used adsense. Never heard of it until posting on this board. If you take a general concensus of the web community I think you will find similar results... overall, google adsense, page pr, and so forth are of little interest in many other industries. Adsense and Google PR generally comes into play after someone decides they want to sell and start posting on various sites. That's when we came across terms such as Google PR and Adsense. If you had no intention of ever selling you probably wouldn't take these things into account. I can assure you the majority of us don't.

I haven't figured out how to post a direct link. When I try to post an external link it will not show due to secure page (sorry).

RealNames, if you're genuinely interested please PM me and I'll show you all the stats you like. Like I said, no reason to make up stories when we're really trying to sell a site to a serious buyer.

Thanks again for the great responses!

That's very nice and honorable to do but isn't making some real money even more important than simply building a name, which has dubious and perhaps short-lived value?

Re adsense not being too common and of little interest, I think not. I see it all over the-web on zillions of sites, including large coprorate sites and some of the top-tier million hits a day websites. Only mentioned it since the site seems to have no actual income stats.

Adsense may also be used successfully even if also selling your own product and service in competition with it, and also commonly used by sites which have no cash making products of their own, especially high traffic sites like your site.

Thanks for your feedback. P.S. What is your anticipated sales price or price range?

I truly appologize that we never used adsense. In the future we'll be sure to keep it in mind.

When we first launched the site 3 years ago we also thought it would be short lived. To our surprise it continues to grow in popularity even to this date. Interestingly enough, it's one of the few industries posting record setting numbers when the US market is in a supposed recession. Parts, accessories and related material are reaching an all time high in sales and demand. This is the market we operate in and where we concentrate most of our efforts.

Also what keeps the site's popularity going is that many parts of the world cannot access the cars, products and lifestyle that comes with this industry. Our regular updates and content keeps them coming back for more as more and more people around the world become interested in this sport. In short, the site's longevity isn't really tied to it's domain name. Rather, it's the content and industry itself that keeps it going.

Another tidbit of knowledge is that Universal is currently planning a part 3 to the movie which will cause yet another surge in this site's popularity. The same happened for parts 1 & 2. Partly why we chose this domain name.

If the new owner(s) don't like the domain name per-say. We may also include another domain in the sales package. We also own: ONLINEAUTOSALON.com/net < These domains have been highly sought after in our industry for some time now. We never got around to developing them because FFE was doing so well.

RealNames please PM for price, stats, etc. I'll be glad to forward the info! Thanks!

No need to apologize, the subject of adsense and ppc only came up as thought it was somewhat odd a popular site with such heavy traffic would not have such an easy and reliable ongoing revenue stream, especially since so many buyers rely a lot on income stats when buying a website. i.e. some here buy names based on about 2-3 yrs income, sometimes as much as 5 or more yrs income if the name is also 'good.'

After thinking more deeply about this I really am not too interested in buying your site at this time as I normally only invest in sites which have either product sales, PPC income, and/or represent a well known keyword type-in name.

Though your website looks real nice and well done, the fact I am no longer interested does not mean others will not buy it as we all have different priorites and views and many here also like so called 'made-up' names and such sites, which are not neccesarily natural type-in names.

Thanks anyway for all your information and replies.

"Universal is currently planning a part 3 to the movie"

From what I understand they managed to scrape enough dough together to bring Vin Diesel back.
Vin and the new toys they come up with should be enough to keep traffic going pretty well.

If I can make a suggestion, maybe while your marketing this ... set up adsense and see how it
converts and at least you would have some idea in terms of adsense rev. Maybe through some
banners up for related products from paying affiliates ... cj ... linkshare ... performics and see how that goes as well.

Just a thought....

Nice site - good traffic - No problem without this adsense ppc program with me. We have been at this, like you, for much longer than adsense has been around. Your site has value as it is - no need to junk it up with an adsense program. I like the direct ad sales and barter approach much better than a ppc program for your site. Market banner ads and text links to the industry you are in. We only run adsense on a couple of sites and from what I hear from our affiliate manager, it is real short money. Good luck with your sale. Nice site!!! Steve

I agree with Steve. I don't think it is a good idea to be too dependent on adsense, or any other major vendor.
