And where does the buzz comes from? A bizz man or a dizzy biggie?

maybe biggie is dizzy

talking bout a buzz in dot b i z

but you've been buzzin .cm .im and .me

so why can't dot b i z get bizzy!

dot b i z

a quite sleeper

a low level creeper

every now and then you see one on the move

could it be that dot b i z is getting in the groove?

releasing the single letter in dot b i z

could the registry ...

have something up it's sleeve?

it's it too far fetched

for some to believe

is the rise of dot b i z

too hard to conceive

or is this just about a tld dream?

Yes, liquidate assets and cash in for the last time before new vanity extensions make .biz even more worthless - makes sense to me :)
BTW .pro & .coop are engaged in a similar process.

biz -> com?
Folks read travel brochures about Sweden, and end up buying tickets to go to Switzerland

I tried to post this to the discussion area but I guess we must wait for approval now:

Overstock.com is launching O.biz. Did Biggie have the inside scoop? Inquiring minds want to know

In the first material sign that the release of one and two character .biz domain names could be a boon for the .biz top level domain, Overstock.com has won the RFP for the O.biz domain name. The company will launch a B2B site for businesses to buy goods online at the domain name.

According to a press release, O.BIZ will primarily focus on restaurant, office, and hotel products.

All one character .biz domain names that were not claimed through the RFP process will be auctioned off at Sedo later this month. The domain that will probably attract the most attention is E.biz.

It doesn’t surprise me that Overstock went after this single letter domain, as the company seems intent on acquiring O.com in the future, if it is ever released. It has already filed a trademark for that mark.

any good ones? i have a few good .biz i have been holding for a long time.

was it france.biz or portugal.biz that sold recently for xxxx range?

If anything .biz may be picking up a little IMHO because I've seen more sales, certainly not declining anyway.

.biz is for everyone who can't have the .com or .org

That is still a big market of people.

I have sold several .BIZ over the last year from Mid $XXX - Low $X,XXX (most in this range).

Ones like -

FamilyLaw
Maca
Bruno
Camo
Clarksburg

And others. I have a pending offer right now for a single word Product.biz for $1,500+

I would not discount biz as being that terrible. Since many people don't target .biz there is a nice ROI to be had if you are picky and know how to find buyers.

Yeah, it is a value play. The majority of end users don't have a massive budget and lesser extensions bring better keywords into the budgets of many buyers.

Some of those end users will choose a lesser .COM, some will choose their ccTLD, some will choose great terms in alternate gTLD. There are many terms that don't fit .BIZ well, however you could easily find a buyer for a premium keyword that fits like Landscaping.biz

Nice points Brad, I probably don't own more than half a dozen .biz domains myself, but like you explain there is a market for them in some circumstances.

.biz seems unprofessional to me. I feel more comfortable doing business at a .com than a .biz in most cases. .biz is alright for local businesses, but not for businesses whose identities are defined online.

I've got a feeling that existing exotic extensions are going to remain nearly irrelevant even in light of new TLDs (and not die off). .porn and .xxx seem like no-brainers to me. I could also see a social media site using a self-branded TLD successfully. Most will fail though.
