Nicely framed and a wonderful subject! Thank you for sharing.

HasRob,

I am looking for an DSLR camera.
What would you recommend to buy from these cameras:
Nikon D40, D70s, D3000 and D5000
Canon EOS XS, XSi, XTi

If you don't like these what would you recommend? Just for amateur DSLR not pros.

thx, johnn i have a canon 7d and its very nice.

Great scenery. But initially I thought you were talking about blizzard headquarter pictures, the company which produce the diablo game series.

Too much money for amateur like me. I want to spend less than $1K.

Buy a Canon EOS 350D, I have one and it is perfect, just be sure to have money for additional lenses! From $1k you should be able to buy the camera + one very good lens, or 2 average ones.

Agreed. Lens is more important. I used to shot with 35mm camera a lot.

Thanks,

350d is old, the 500d is a newer camera, way better, and shoots full hd video. And yes, a nice "L" lense will do you good.

If it's not much more expensive then it should be a good deal. Amazing photos you have anyway!

Great stuff! You should list them at istockphoto if you haven't already.

The new Sony line is awesome.

They use all the old Konica Minolta Auto Focus lenses.

There are thousand of them out there for pennies compared to what Sony charges.

But the best optics you can afford.

3 and 5 listed are by far the best of the lot.

Nice composition.

A little more tight cropping here and there and they would be even more stunning.

Nonetheless, very nice old fashioned "silver print" look from days gone by.

Just found this thread nice pics reminds me of that famous Ansel Adams oak tree picture.
