Subdomains are out and domains are ".in"
Don't waste all your rupees on a name obsolete
Just go for the dot "in" and it will be a hit!

As for people in India (atleast Mumbai), Mumbai is more popular than Bombay. I would type Mumbai.in before I search "Bombay" ;)
