Bought 3 domain names - Longest negotiation ever.. 8 years +

So I received an email just the other day. It was a guy that wrote:

Hi Mister Lars Lima,
Are you still interested by the domain name -----.com ?
You have contacted me months ago to purchase this name.

I was like.. Months ago?.. Hmmm.. Then looked at the date of the email he was replying to.. 5th of March 2011..
After a bit back and forth we agreed on me buying three of his names for low 4 figures..

Some times patience is a virtue..

The names.. Well you probably wont like them, but I am a space nut:

OrbitalHotel.com
OrbitalFlight.com
OrbitalTrip.com

Will go nice with my SpaceTravelAgency.com.. Come on space tourism!

so, did he respond to an email that you had sent him 8 years ago, where you were seeking to buy his domains?

if so, maybe he was going back in his emails, doing follow ups to see if he could get a sale.
also, .he must have had some foresight, to get those names back then.



i'm working on one that's even longer
once or if it goes down, will peep you on what happened

We had a correspondence back in 2011. It ended with him asking 4 million for one of those three and 200K for another. So safe to say we were not on the same page.

But yes I knew when he responded to such an old negotiation that I had a lot of leverage. I ended up paying around 500 USD per. Which I think is fair in a reseller market.
