British Violence Sucks!

The British Bobbies (policemen) in Southampton in the UK have come up with a novel idea to reduce late-night violence in the City - they are dishing out free lollipops!

Police spokesman Sgt Stewart Chandler said:-

" People can get intoxicated and volatile. Giving them a lollipop makes them less likely to be abusive and with something in their hands they are less likely to wave their fists around".

How is it working out?

"Just one problem so far - a fight that broke out when one bloke didn't get a lollipop".

Apparently, handing out lollipops is also Europe's preferred tactic of dealing with terrorists.
