Well established Aol buddy icon site with two domains iconrate.com 301 redirected to buddyicons.cn.
Domains redirection in 2006 to buddyicons.cn in an effort to improve se position for main keywords, which has been pretty effective. Top 3 ranking in Yahoo for buddy icons, fluctuating top rankings in msn as well. Traffic is next to 100% search engine.
Site formerly was monitized by Adsense but because of an images next to ads dispute (I was wrong), the site no longer displays ads. Since then I haven't been marketing the site... just have let it sit on the server. This was at one time receiving between 10,000-15,000 uv per day, and with a little effort I can see top rankings along with traffic returning.
If you can find another way to monetize the site such as Azoogle ads, where you can earn $1.50+ per buddy icon pack download this could be a great starting point.
