I've always hated Godaddy with their unethical 'transfer locks', their spam-filled screens they require you to plow through, and now their slow, bloated interface the "DCC". But now they've given me another reason to hate them.

A couple of months ago their auction system started displaying a little symbol next to come names, and if you tried to bid you were told you had to join 'cashparking' to bid. The promotion material explained that there would be many domains in auctions that only MEMBERs could bid, so I joined.

Within a few days, the funny symbols stopped appearing, and I forgot about it until I got a notice that I had been billed AGAIN for the 'membership'. I called up Godaddy, and they agreed that the domain bidding restriction was removed long ago, but I am now 'allowed' to park domains at Godaddy. I told them I never intended to park names at Godaddy, I paid money to participate in restricted auctions, a discontinued service. They refuse to refund my money except for the last payment "BECAUSE THEY CAN MAKE ANY CHANGE TO ANY SERVICE THAT WANT TO AND KEEP THE MONEY UNDER THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE". I told them that no REPUTABLE company would charge a customer for services not delivered.

SO... for those of you who keep domains registered at Godaddy, you should really think about their self-serving willingness to rip people off and simply keep your money.

I spend over $100,000 a year on registry services, and they chose to rip me off for $19.95. How do you think they'll treat a $9 customer?

well the best part is the domainbyproxy where basically you wish to protect yourself and instead as soon as they receive an inquiry they charge you 19 usd software fee and they give away your infos right away.
I love when they charge me this fee...

Hmmm, doesn't sound good. Do GD ever comment in here?

Godaddy sucks....I know that since so much time ago. Some of the people who manage it must even be in jail.
