This month's issue of Business 2.0 has an article about DNF member; SouthernTn. The article is called "Flipping Web Fixer-Uppers" and can be found on page 126 of the June edition. There is also a short mention of DNF...

Congrats to SouthernTn

Thanks.. My copy should be coming in mail soon!

What is the article about in brief?

Wanna know if it's worth putting 5 euros.

In short, people benefitting off the internet. I havent seen the full article, but My part is about how I took a website (without paying any money from my pocket) , generated revenue and sold it off. Plus some other stuff.

It's pretty much a full page article. It mentions how SouthernTn, purchased a website, promoted it, found avdvertisers, then sold it. It also has info about the myspace deal, and how the future looks bright for people buying websites, improving them, and selling them for a proft.

It only mentions DNF once, but mentions SitePoint several times. This part is primarily coming from the editor, but it was still nice to see DNF mentioned.

If you don't want to purchase it, visit a grocery store, book store, etc and locate the zine. It's on page 126, and can be read in a few minutes...

Yep, Sitepoint are the ones who originally got them to interview me, but I tried to make it to the point where I wasn't giving Sitepoint credit for what I have learned. Even though it sold on sitepoint, DNForum is where I learned everything. :cheesy: .. I had to make sure he mentioned dnforum in the article.

Well, as a newly approved mod I would say that as well! :greensmilewinkgrin:

Joking aside, this is the second time I can congratulate you today:

Congrats on the media coverage! Must be great to be mentioned in a Business 2.0 article.

Thanks alot..

Well, im not really mentioned.. the article is mainly about me , with some addins about other stuff, but mainly me :greenbigrazz:

Yeah, it was nice to see DNForum mentioned. I'm surprised with all of the domain name media attention that it's not getting more press. Adam, have you thought about sending out an "Expert available to discuss domain names" disclosure to the press? A good PR agent should be able to help you with it.

Just pulled it out of my magazine stack and gave it a read. Sounds like the next "real estate".. can anyone say we saw this coming a mile away many years ago :) It is good to see these kinds of articles coming out almost daily.

Congrats Mr. Jones, you're famous!

Yep.. Time to ship it off to some of my old high school friends on Myspace! :peace:

Awesome Work Jermaine....!

I will hopefully be completing a similar deal shortly, but I certainly doubt I will get mentioned in a major magazine. You should be really proud of yourself...and I'm sure well over $10,000 in profit doesn't hurt either. :-)

Cheers!

Nice Jermaine! You sound like a young Adam Dicker to me - nice start and a good plug for DNForum. :)

Cheers,
