here is my opinion. your thread has not recieved any attention so i will do my best.
i sort of like this name. "sale" right, who in the world does not want to buy something on sale? the lines at stores for after christmas sales eptiomize this fact.
this is my we have comparison shopping engines, froogle. shopping.com, bestrate, cnet, etc.
brandable name, but not worth much until developed.
low $$$ at best.
it can be used to develope a site teaching people about sale cycles and how they can strategize to buy things on sale. it can be a community or forum of shoppers who can post sales.

people could check back when the thing they want is on sale.
for example, a certain model big screen.
get an email back saying "it's on sale now"

my sister LIVES for sites like this- sooooooooo many people use the web to shop- i think developed you are talking about a huge site if done right-
the web is is used for shopping- you would be catering to one of the highest concentration of users- keep this in mind because a great site will get you more than XX-
you arent talking about woodpecker lovers- you are dealing with SHOPPERS-
just how much was spent online last year??????????
how much of that could YOU have saved THEM?????
i think this is an awesome site idea- what is hot hot hot is convienence- they nter into the site what they are interested in- an email dispatches when the item is on sale on the web-
now- not all new concepts- being done now- but in this day and age you can certainly come up with some gimmics to gain ground

Thanks everyone for your input. I've got something in the works for it right now. Maybe a bright future for this domain. I only paid $15.00 for it so, worst case I should be able to recover my initial investment.
