I would love to sell some domains on Sedo, but how does anyone going to the site find anything?...How do you even find a dot ca out of the thousands and thousands of domains.
You cant even sort by tld. Anyway, Congrats to the seller. A great sale !!

I wouldn't be surprised if the domain was privately sold and then escrowed by sedo.
This happened to us some time ago, where the buyer wanted to use sedo, and then sedo reported it to dnjournal as THEIR SALE when they only did the escrow.

Sad that reported .ca sales are so rare.

I will be reporting another LLL.ca sale for 7k to Ron the DnJournal.
Hopefully, it will be encouraging, and it will be another LLL.ca that has sold for over 5k

is the LLL a word, or just random letters for an acronym?

We did an LLLL.ca non-word domain earlier this week for $3500.

I think they should have bought that one at the beginning of the summer, oh well now they have 10 months to develop it out.

my latest .ca sale just closed today, for $650. It was:

mybff (for those without kids, it stands for 'my best friend forever', think I picked it up in TBR)

Seems like a few .ca sales are happening. I have two more in negotiation, will post the details if they sell.

Things usually start to pick up in Sept, so that's good!

Summer hiring is done in the late winter... so a few months to develop it and hopefully land some contracts from summer employers such as amusement parks and tourist attractions.

I only ever had 2 summer jobs... and I got them both by chance.

But whoever bought this name is buying it in a horrible market. An article on USA Today that I read this morning said that youth jobs are at an all time low.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/employment/2010-09-03-youth-unemployment_N.htm

I think it would do best for banner ad/adsense revenue. Having frequently sought work recently, I know it's typical job-seeker behavior to check the job boards hourly. Should have no trouble in getting the visitors to pile up.

The domain is sfi.ca and are random letters for an acronym.

Did you know who you were dealing with in the negotiation, or were they totally anonymous? Looks like a company with those three initials in their acronym. Nice info to have when discussing price.

No, I did not know who the owner was. They used a yahoo account...asked a price, I said the price...and held firm. No back and forth. I rarely negotiate. I feel that the prices I quote are fair. If I have a truly interested end user, we usually sort it out..

Thanks S,
I appreciate the kudos....
It has been a while since I had a sale. Based on other comments on this thread, hopefully we will all starting selling more now that fall is here, and holidays are over.

I considered it but they went private on the whois right away so I don't know how to back it up other than providing a copy of the escrow transaction. I also thought that because it was a new TM I should probably just leave well enough alone. We could have won any action but who needs the grief and monitoring work for the future to make sure there are no conflicts on the PPC pages.

I only wanted 2k for it so at 4k I was a happy camper :)
