I am considering buying a prime .ca domain name but I was wondering how hard it would be to optimize it for good keyword lisitings in google or other related engines.

Is it possible?

The reason I ask is because I rarely see any.

thanks for the input.

not hard.

a much better way to put it might be:

extension doesn't make a huge (if any) difference re: SERPS in my experience.

a good site/content will win the day. ;)

good luck.

It is nice to see the growing popularity in dot ca domains. I just purchased war.ca today.

It can be done. My .ca places higher than domainstate on yahoo.com for the term "domain forum" with or without the quotes. Its not exactly active with posts (last post in July) so I would consider search engines being favourable to .ca in some cases.

I think .ca's have an advantage for any user doing a search from a Canadian IP. Keep to the principles you should see results.

Just use the same SEO tactics for .ca as for any
other domain, it doesn't matter. I have .ca sites
that list higher in yahoo and google than .com and .net
sites. Also, .ca might show up higher in search engines
like Yahoo when you choose to show "Canadian sites only",
and .ca only (in advanced search).

I have seen .CA domains rank high in MSN too.
