can anyone register a .ca domain name

hi i was looking at registering a .ca name but going through the process at godaddy, it says something that you have to be a canadian national, to reg one?
im from uk so i cant reg ?
would appreciate some help here

You have to be a canadian citizen or run a business in Canada.

Having a partner in Canada or opening up a business.

Keep in mind having a canadian partner may be risky and you should only do it if you completely trust that person.

Godaddy has them but I've never tested it. They say they register it via Godaddy Canada so it might check Your nationality.
