http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/decisions/html/2008/d2008-1379.html

SO, the complainant "won" the domains - they took the .com but then had the .org and .net canceled?

I would think rule #1 for protecting your own TM is to get the most common TLDs (and ccTLDs) for your clientele? While .com would be the first choice, .net and .org would seriously also be ones that should have been received (as opposed to canceling them).

only reason is they don't see the value or need for other extensions... not sure if its right or wrong... just a different way of seeing things.

If it was my business I would take them all.

I would too and with my company names (and relevant) I made sure I got the .com, .net, .org, .us, and maybe even .info

they want to save $20

next time they will have to pay much more
when somebody else registers .net or .org

they will probably win wipo again, but it will cost more than $20

Yeah, it amazes me the companies who don't take these, even after a WIPO or let them drop then file another WIPO.

If is possible I always reg all principal extensions if I plan to create a new brand.
A guy here on DNF some months ago reg'd a little different version of my company name and the next day he trying to sell me that domain.
I don't buy that domain from that IDIOT member.
