For Sale Can the Snapnames WLS system be thundered down with automated scripts?

As I understand it, the WLS does not function like the normal way names are grabbed by professionals, i.e. via RRP. There is a cryptic code you need to enter to secure WLS slots.

How then will the opening bell be conducted if this is so? Through random allocation? Your thoughts are appreciated on this paradox.

There are ways to simulate user interaction, as with anything. There are scripts at present and many more will follow. The new snapnames picture recognition scripts make it much harder to make the script needed, but in no way stop it from being done.

And we all know the big boys will be using these scripts the day of launch.

Should be able to do bulk purchases without a hitch.

Registrars won't have the same restrictions internally I suspect. They will be busy gearing up their large list of "pre-orders" for the LR until launch.

I don't think there's any paradox. The "big boys" will no doubt be working directly with a registrar, who will not need to manually enter a code, and who will be slamming the parallel registry like there's no tomorrow on judgement day.

Wouldn't this tsunami of requests cause a crash to the system, like what happened to the .info landgrab? This would be very embarrasing for Snapnames.
