can you switch forum hosts

so if i host a forum and decide to switch servers is it easy to switch all the posts, etc. over to the new server - i am new at forums so any help would be great

If you have CPanel, it shouldnt be a problem (via backup thingy).

But, a good host, should do it for you (imo) :-D

if your having any problems let me know ill do my best to help :)

every forum script has details of how to move servers
basically - you upload all the php/asp/cgi files etc to your new server - then change the config details accordingly - then upload the mysql database to the new host via phpmyadmin - then all you have to do is change some of the permissions via chmod (you dont need to do this with the new vbulletin)

It takes some coordination to avoid downtime during the DNS update.
