Has anyone registered a name and cancelled their order? It's not a big deal for me to let the name drop in a year due to a typo, but has anyone ever registered a name and the same day cancelled the name and received a refund?

domain registrations are final , no refunds, same rules everywhere. :(

That is what I read, but I heard somewhere they register them and see if there is any traffic on the names and if not they drop them and receive a refund. Maybe the registrar's themselves do this. Thanks for your help.

it is the registrars that do that you are correct

Its unethical, but you can technically, register a domain, and then do a chargeback if you use a credit card.

I don't support this, in fact someone did it to me once, but surely enough its how you can get a refund.

Sure and get your account blocked too. Its not worth it over $5.19. I will just use the name someway or sell it down the road.
