Cars4Dummies.com
I regged this name a while back. along with MechanicHelp.com I plan on developing them as a self help database of engines specs etc.

I recently got a letter from Wiley Publishing telling me that if I activated or sold the domain name they would take legal action.

I did a TM search and the only thing that comes close is
"Buying and selling cars for dummies". Wiley Publishing, Inc.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

They are known for defending their line of "for dummies", just like "Toys R us" does the same with "R us".

You'd be better off using Cars4Beginners.com which is available :D

The first thing that went through my head when I saw the subject line was, 'What if someone was using the domain to promote a line of novelty rock candy items in the shape of different vehicles?"

But I'm sure that this is another point of divergence between British and US English...

"According to that paper I may be within my rights?"

You should probably find and consult with someone who can help answer that question for you.

That decision, while topically of interest, has nothing to do with you and this asserted trademark.
