Smart move, doesn't CNET own some top news domains?
CBS Corporation acquired CNET Networks for $1.8 billion.
In January 2000, CNET Networks acquired mySimon for $700 million.
In October 2000, CNET Networks acquired ZDNet for $1.6 billion.
It means in 2000 only, they spent $2.3 billion to acquire two companies.

CBS needed to make a move to be a online player. If they dont do it now it will cost them much more as time goes on."a deal that will make CBS one of the top 10 Internet companies in the United States."
Didn't realize that the networks were interested in being a top Internet company. I wonder if this is simply diversity or is it all part of a large scheme to move forward with closing the loop between their TV shows and online users.
