Hi i've seen a .cc i would like to buy, whats the drill with these? Does the seller give you a username and password to go with it to change legal registrant? How are they transferred to the new owner??? And are .cc's worth buying in general, have their been any nice sales recenly?

Cheers in advance Chris

.cc are not worth buying, at all, never, period.

please dont waste your money on them, I have never seen a proven .cc sale for more than $100...

hope that helps

Cheers bud! I saw this .cc and got a little excited by their lowest figure of $5000 for a crappy generic on greatdomains, and the one i saw and almost bought was very good generic wise but the .cc was a bit of a dodgy one! I almost bought it!!!!! Lucky i didn't !!! I must admit though i am a little gutted anyway would have looked nice in my portfolio!

From what I know of .cc's (I only own 1) they cannot be transferred between registrars (at least that is what RegFly told me when I attempted). I think your best bet with these is pushing between accounts at the same registrar or turning over the account to the new owner. I have been toying around with the thought of developing mine to see the respoinse it gets. I haven't seen many sales of them at all....

.cc names are not valuable now, but some people are buying them because many prime names are still available.

Take care,

Kevin

This was 2004 ....

What about now?. 4 years after this thread was made.

Has .cc any value today?.

Has .cc any value today?.
Why would .cc be worth anything, being a vanity extension with no local market ?
If they were somewhat valuable you would see reported sales in Dnjournal & Sedo from time to time ;)

If anything its lost value - new extensions marginalised ccTLD's trying to be gTLDs. Same with .ws. Only one so far to work at a gTLD is .tv.
