Hi there

someone I know transfered a domain name to a famous person (it was theirname.com) for free and this name was used to promote that famous person and all was fine.

Here's the catch:

That famous person had their manager do all the paperwork and he transfered the domain into his own name rather than his clients (the famous person)
The famous person and his manager have fallen out over money and the manager will not transfer the domain name to the famous person.
My friend doesn't really want to get dragged into it yet both parties have contacted him asking him for support.

Firstly how does my friend stay out of it and secondly who is likely to win this dispute.

Thanks in advance

If the domain was transferred to a party representing the Celebrity and they had a falling out of some kind, that is not your problem anymore. They will have to sort it out.

Brad
