Hi,

I have a potential buyer for ChasseEtPeche.ca... French for HuntingAndFishing

As you know, fishing and hunting are very popular sports in Canada, very very popular in Quebec (french). Magazines and TV shows have that name. 107 000 google results for "Chasse et Peche". 303 000 for Chasse et Peche

You can't have a better french name for those 2 sports in Canada, period.

Huge potential if develop. Big market.

Any appraisal?

If you search google for "chasse et peche" and select 'pages in Canada' you get 432,000 results.

This is a name you'd want to sell to en end user to get full value, it's a great category domain for french speakers in Quebec, which is about 25% of the Canadian population.

Hard to place a value, but it's obviously a multi-million dollar industry, a hobby or passion for some people like sports is. Lot's of advertiser potential, etc. A great memorable name for a company involved in hunting and fishing with a french audience.

It would be a shame to sell for anything less than high x,xxx or low xx,xxx

I ended up regging the IDN in .com for 'Chasse et Peche', with the correct accent on the first 'e' in Peche. Will see if it gets any traffic. I've heard Quebec is lobbying for .ca to allow french accents on domains, but don't know if anything will come of it.

As said by HG...

I also think it should be $xxxx - hold it, or better yet, develop it and monetize a bit using PPC / Adsense / etc.

Cheers,

Rob

Your market is pretty much limited to Quebec although there are pockets of french speaking spread across other parts of the country.

It's a great name for the industry but who is the industry. The vast majority of them (I assume) are small operations (guides, resorts, tour operators etc) that probably don't have the $$$ for a large purchase. I'm not aware of any large corporate entities in this particular industry.

And that is what you have to determine first. Who exactly is your buyer. A guide with $500 in his pocket is a waste of time if you want $12,000. On the other hand if you'll settle for $500 and they would have paid $12,000.....:undecided:

Knowledge is power and you shouldn't be afraid to ask them to identify themselves so that you can judge their ability to pay and whether your needs can be satisfied.

For anybody who's never been in sales it's called "qualifying the client". And can save you an enormous amount of time.

Next assuming your client is well qualified and capable of buying I would shoot for HIGH $xx,xxx to low $xxx, xxx.

Anybody looking for an industry term that popular should be looking at a profit picture that should range in the $xxx, xxx to $x,xxx, xxx per year. NO reason to give them a property that would make that kind of $$$$ for chump change.
