Current status: ChatGPT is showing as operational now. There was a short partial outage affecting ChatGPT Work Mode shortly after midnight on September 3, 2026, with high error rates reported at 12:04 AM; OpenAI marked it fully recovered at 12:10 AM.
Claude is also currently reporting all systems operational. Its most recent listed issue was related to delays applying newly purchased usage credits, rather than a broad Claude.ai outage.
So there is no confirmed active platform-wide outage for either service at the moment. There is also no official indication of an attack or of a shared third-party failure affecting both. If either site is still failing locally, try a hard refresh, private/incognito window, another network, and temporarily disable browser extensions/VPNs.

OpenAI has publicly confirmed an upcoming model called Astra, with an initial, tightly restricted rollout planned for advanced cybersecurity evaluation/defensive use. However, there is no confirmed public launch date for today, September 3, 2026, and no official confirmation that Astra is branded as GPT-6.
So: Astra appears real and soon is plausible; a general public GPT-6/Astra release today is still rumor. The ChatGPT/Claude disruption by itself is not evidence of a launch.
