Thanks DCG, ok, can you suggest any registar where I can get dot coms for less than $5.00 other than yahoo? Of course service should be some what good! :-)

To be honest, those two words don't go together for anything in life.

Expect to pay more for service anywhere.

very well said.
Any price below $6 is fishy - if you find sites offering that, read the fine print carefully.
I will choose one of the ~$7 registrars that are here to stay.(eNom, godaddy)

eNom is my preferred registrar. DCG's statement is very true.

Anything under $6.25 including ICANN fees for .com means they're losing money...unless there's another purchase requirement. They're banking on you buying something else (or requiring it).

moniker - $6.95

I was going to say the same thing as DCG but oh well. He said first. Let me rephrase it then :) You get what you pay for!

Moniker $6.85 =]

How to get 6.85 from Moniker ?

domainsite.com 6.99 for basic without forwarding function, only dns access.

I won't say it's fishy, as it could be a loss leader or something. I have registered A LOT for $5 each at EV1Servers.net (then a Tucows/OpenSRS reseller) when they first launched their domain registration service.

By the way, DNForum does have its own ICANN-accredited registrar: click on "Services" (just next to "User CP"), and scroll down to "Domain Registration". Or you can go directly to DreamRegistrar.com. :)

GoDaddy is very good in my opinion. Up until recently you could get for $4.19, now the lowest price is $6.19.

Dotster has domains for $6.99 through the end of the year

1and1 is $5.99. I'm pretty happy with their service.

Don't they make it hard to push domains to another account?

I have been registring with 1and1 and have been happy except that i Cant seem to find a bulk registration tool. But I keep on wondering why the domains are so cheap so if any of you have experiance please let us know...

thanks

The names are below cost because they hope you'll buy other services like webhosting.
