Thats insane. He should have got the hell out of China. If certain people in the US had their way anyone associated with adult or gambling sites would be tossed in jail.

If it's not lack of resources, I guess it's a combination of romantic (local) patriotism, fear of the unknown and plain laziness which keeps most people from moving. A lot of people seem deeply rooted in one particular place.
John Zuccarini might have been better off somewhere else as well. I guess that goes for most convicts...

Police recently told me a guy who stole some of my watches got sentenced to 4 years in prison.

A drug addict who broke into my house this summer, while I was on vacation, and took a couple of watches I had forgotten to put in the safe. Nothing too valuable, still, quite a lot here. Unfortunately for him he sold them for nothing, and couldn't pay when he got caught, which apparently added to his sentence.

I've been feeling bad for this guy - he probably needed the watches more than I did, and now he'll spend 4 years in prison here. I think a life sentence in China could just as well spell death.

You just reminded me of a time my son and I went to pick up a barbecue grill at a friends house, when my son and i were loading it my truck I said wait a minute something doesnt look right, because I was only at his house 2 or 3 times, I actually went to his neighbors house went in their indoor porch and took his grill. Needles to say we hurried up and put it back, luckily no one was home
