I don't know if I had too much to drink last night, but all our CIRA expiry dates are wrong this morning, both our own domains and those of our clients.

Is anyone else seeing this with their domains:

http://whois.cira.ca/public?domaine=moviecritics.ca - shows 2008 expiry

http://whois.cira.ca/public?domaine=cbintelligence.ca - show feb 09 expiry

http://whois.cira.ca/public?domaine=getlost.ca - we sold getlost.ca but it is back in our ownership...

Tried to call CIRA but got no answer...

Let me know if anyone else is having this problem

I noticed that some whois data on one of my .ca names was wrong this morning, too... I figured it was a glitch...:?:

Holy ****. Some of mine are showing as available (however I just tried to reg one and it came back as "Domain already exists."

just checked some of my names and CIRA's whois is saying they're not registered and namespro and sibername are saying they're available. I've even been able to add my own names to their shopping carts

WTF is going on?

Edit:

Even the CIRA site is showing a total of 0 registered .ca's

We have emailed CIRA Registrar support to find out what is going on. When I get an answer back I'll post an update here for all.

here is the response from CIRA. "We are experiencing WHOIS synchronization issues and our technical staff is investigating the cause. We are working to restore service within the hour."

Starting to look back to normal now

actually 716 is listed as available to register now... :worried:

and almost all of my .ca names show as available to register right now... I really hope this gets sorted soon...

There is nothing to be worried about in my opinion....since all the names still remain in your registrar account.

True, but I am betting a lot of folks will attempt to register domains that they will not be abler to get... this could be a pretty annoying thing for some customers and registrars...

i noticed this very early this morning, its been very interesting, a lot of good information from the archives :)

:yo:

I randomly checked a few of mine, and they seem to be back to normal. Man, what a scare huh?
