CIRA Suspends Certification of Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc.

Ottawa, October 6, 2004 - In accordance with the CIRA Registrar Agreement (available at www.cira.ca/en/cat_Registrar.html), CIRA has suspended the certification of Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc. until further notice. As a result, Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc. is no longer able to process any transactions as a CIRA Certified Registrar.

All Registrants' domain names registered with Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc. and domain names scheduled to expire or be cancelled during the certification suspension period of Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc., will have their current status extended until further notice. CIRA will not cancel or suspend any domain names registered with Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc. during the certification suspension period of Canadian Consulting & Online Services Inc.

Registrants wishing to obtain more information should contact CIRA at 1-877-860-1411.

NameSlave, we know ICANN is expensive and clunky, do you know what the costs are for CIRA?

I looked on their site, but I doubt that the listed fees are the end of things, seems too cheap.

Don't have more info at hand, but CIRA is definitely a much smaller "elephant" than ICANN.
