As I have already stated in the past, domain industry is attractive to players of all sizes because it gives the little guys the chance to strike gold and hit the jackpot for a mere $6.95 investment. Call this a lottery ticket or what ever you want... :wink:

For me this name would not be worth more then $100 however to an end user, it may be worth more. It is just a matter of finding the right market and buyer.

I wish GT goodluck with his name. I just think if he wants to get a good price for that name, he will need to do more development and/or promotion on this domain rather then posting it in domain name forums.

I'd say it's worth $50 or less. I've lived in Tokyo for 9 years and I've never seen "City of Tokyo" written anywhere. Already, "city of" is English so that reduces the market by 99%+. TokyoCity.com (as somebody has already pointed out) would be a much more desirable domain, since a transliteration of "city" exists in Japanese which many people are familiar with, but the construction "city of" does not)

In summary, I don't think you'd ever find a Japanese buyer for the domain, so the only hope of extracting value from it would be to pass it on to a less knowledgeable reseller and leave them holding it.

INMHO, CityOfTokyo.info is worthless.

1. It consists of Two English words. It's like putting an American city name with two Japanese words in front, and slapping .info at the end?

2. Let's not even mention "CityOf" - which means nothing over there.

3. It's an .info

The name could easily and quickly be develop to cater to English speaking tourists and "Gaijins" in Tokyo, who are looking for some local "action"

The only reason I put it in, is because they both have word "Tokyo" in them. So instead of wasting another thread, I put it here. Plus, I also offered "my expertise" about the domain in question.

If my 2nd part is inappropriate I have no problem if MOD deletes it from there.

The cityofberkeley is how berk displays themselves.... so the .com i would expect to be worth something

For the .info to be worht that much i was a taken back.....

in short if your domain was avaliable i do not think i would pay the reg fee for it
