Your example is irrelevant.
I prefer business.in to business.co.in and business.com to business.co.uk

If you want to continue comparing apples to oranges, feel free to do so.
The British would gladly take .uk over .co.uk - if only it were available.

If you are really interested in the Indian market, then .co.in ranks well over .in. Firstly because .in is new and .co.in is so entrenched in the Indian web surfers mindset that .in will find it hard to catch up. So I would say that business.co.in will rank better than Business.in any given day even though the latter is much shorter.

I see you do not actually appraise only criticise , I take it you have a bucket load of .in

For the newbies who think this guy knows what is what with his consistent .co.in bashing - I have personally sold in excess of us$96,000 of .co.in and just a few .in since Feb 16 this year. Highest price for .co.in $2500, highest price for .in $200

Of the 200+ premium names I have remaining at TajMahal.co.in 97% of enquiries are for .co.in , the .co.in receive by far the more direct hits.

Make of that what you wish. :-D

I am definately .in denial and here are my reasons.

1) Many Indians use msn.co.in as the home page.
2) Have email address ending in .co.in (yahoo.co.in , hotmail.co.in)
It would be tough to rebrand the domain names, else they will loose out more to the new players (gmail).

It would be interesting to note what amazon does with A2Z.in
I would be competing with them for traffic with my a2z.co.in

It's a time thing… .co.in is an established extension, .in isn't. It's only a matter of time before people and businesses start moving over to .in

It might take 5 or 10 years but eventually .in will come out the leader.

btw, tea.co.in is my personal favorate, the most important fuel there is :)
