I don't agree. Coins.com is worth maybe $500,000. Surely the few
tel investors will see value in premium keywords. Too early to tell.
You can't really appraise an extension with practically no sales yet.

low $xxx :ok:

I'd give even the most obscure .cc TLD the benefit of the doubt, for the single reason that it can be developed as an actual web site.

.tel is a different beast. It can't be promoted as *both* a "biz card on steroids" and a regular TLD at the same time. The term "premium" simply does not exist for .tel domains. Get this cleared out before you buy any such .tel domain in the secondary market.

You can't expect the same type of generic element valuation from .tel unless you want to use it as a shortcut to another domain. But creating link farms is not a viable monetization option.

It's a good name - possibly mid xxx to high xxx- although difficult to tell as the potential market is still so new.

Personally I quite like .tel (Good relevant keyword's), it's long term domainers who tend not to. Newbies outside of the industry are snapping them up.

I'd say it definitely has value to a coin dealer or a coin shop.
If I had a coin shop I'd much rather direct my customers to coins.tel instead of billybobsfantasticcoinstore.com

It might be worth somthing small to a coin company who wants to use .tel for their contact details and i think a company like that would be very hard to fined. Its not a real domain because you can not park or develop it or ern money so whats the point in just losing money ? paying for renewals i think people should have a extra think befor they reg.tel names but their will be a very small few who will make profit selling to people who dont know much about them.

I don't know much about valuations, but I DO think this domain is worth more than you may think. I'm from the UK, and there is a large company called COINS who specialise in Building and Construction solutions.

So... prehaps to this end user it may be worth low £xxxx as they have the domain of: www.coins-global.com/

Please go easy on me, I'm pretty new, and don't know much about domains - it was just a thought...

:tel names IMHO are worth a great deal. If you market them directly to a business. I would seek out the largest coin dealer in the world and then approach them. Be prepared, find out about the company and tell them branding, brandng, branding is everything. You have a winner here. I say $5 - 10K to the right buyer.

I'm sorry - but I really do not see this name in the $XXXX (or even $XXX) as others have quoted.

Are there precident sales to give relativity too?
...or dare I say it's the typical 'wishing thinking' not based on established sales, but rather intrinsic emotion?

I really do not see a high demand for synchronizing 'coin' phone numbers using .tel vs. just go to the main site of said coin business using whatever universally compatible device you may be using.

If many higher profile businesses and industries passed on .tel - then I don't see some coin business paying $XXXX for a name that was for sale @ $300 just a little while ago.

With that said, I would love to see nothing more than to have you prove me wrong. :P

Best of Luck and Success in All Your Endeavours!

PS: re: coins-global.com - I would also dare say it's more valuable for them to invest in a non-hyphenated .com before wasting $$$$ on a .tel
