College.co.uk sells on Sedo for $27,500

In what appears to be one of the highest prices paid for a .co.uk college.co.uk has been sold.
According to whois records the new owner is a New Jersey based company. Sedo indicates that the name was purchased for $27,500

There's an odder one than that from Sedo according to the latest DNjournal report. Someone paid $32k for "theaters.co.uk" - odd, because it's not the English spelling of "theatre".

It may be a steal, but the sad fact is, eduction levels in the UK have become so poor that your average UK college student can't even spell college, let alone type it in correctly.

I hope who ever bought it isn't expecting lots of type in traffic as a result... :lol:

I have to agree, this was a bargain price. But from another thread I have been told that some domainers deliberately sell their domains under price to allow for buyer to sell it on at a profit!
