Greetings!

Well this kind of questions probably get repeated here all the time.
Anyway, it's not probably this black and white at all, BUT I wanna
try this:

Lets say that a .com domains are "100". That's a value, where
we want to compare other tlds.

If I would like to compare the pricing to other tlds, which would be
their values? I would be especially interested to hear about the main
tlds, com, net, org, info, biz and maybe some popular cctlds such as *.uk
for example.

My own guess would be something like this:
.com 100 (controller value)
.net 70-80
.org 20-40 ( can't be compared in all the cases since, it's not sexy for business)
.info 5-15 ( same here)
.biz 5-15

.co.uk 30-40
.org.uk 5-10

I remember that I read (possibly somewhere over here on this forum) that half
of the existing domains are on either .com or .net extension. So guessing their
value is always (if we think about the average of all) something like doubled
when comparing to other extensions.

What do you think?

It really depends on the keywords but the rule of thumb is that .com is king and dictionary domains are valuable.

I would say that is a very good rule of thumb!

Even accounting for variations among different niches, your non .com rates are grossly overstated. There is no way most .nets are worth 70-80% of their corresponding .coms.

I will add, this is no way to predict percentage as sometimes, outside of the .com domains fit better with the tld. For example, grassroots.org fits better with the .org because of the inherited .org meaning. Also, I have sold .nets and .org's for more than other domains. In this industry it is more of an art than a science, if you try to figure a percentage you will be wrong in many cases. What's the recent trend of percentages with .mobi? It won't even make sense.

I think your right it is more of an "artful science" but ultimately it comes to down to supply and demand and the prices are reflective of who is demanding it.
