]Frankly, whoever said a computer store would spend $100k - $250k really needs a reality check. There are no more "mom and pop" shops in the US. It's just big stores like Best Buy, CompUSA etc. Most small players are on the web and sell their items from zero inventory, drop-shipping locations. Investing a quarter of a million in inventory will never happen again.

That's me! :cheeky:

Check any yellow pages for TOWN-Computers. I was just guestimating figures but anyone investing in any shop, which is still king of small business, is looking at $50,000 for 12 months shop rental. Add 10 computers and the latest gadgets for the showroom and there's your $100K.

$10K for an urgent sale reseller
$15K+ if he's willing to wait a month or two for a good offer
$$$,$$$ retail

WHAT other TLDs? Computer.gizmos? CMon Radistar if you can't sell a dozen PCs from Computers.US and make your $10K back then someone must have pulled the plug on the internet.

You forgot to add that $50k+ he's looking for the domain to the budget. :-D
So, it's still out of budget.

BTW, the $3 Overture numbers per click are only by Dell (several of them) and Toshiba. The rest of the clicks are under a buck. Small computer retailers can't compete.

One of the best, of course, as if that needed to be said. Minimum $xxx, xxx now, $x,xxx, xxx and up later when the sleeping giant awakens.

I agree with Radistar here. Country domain shouldnt be judge too high as there are more and more extension introduced. PPL who need computer domain will tend to find a domain under TLD, their own country extension or else other extension if the price is too high. Besides, it does not make much difference. Both of them wont show up in global search engine result. Only .com .net .info and .org will do. Thus, buying a domain with country extension for 5 digit will be extreme. Buyer cant expect to have tmuch traffic from SEO
To say that only .com, .net, .org and .info show in global search engines is NOT TRUE. My WallStreet.us is showing up in Google.com under the keyword wall street directory in the first page listing #7 and under the keyword wall street financial directory it's in the first page #2 listing and the same gos for the two keywords in Yahoo.com. The global search engines have listed my WallStreet.us for the passed TWO YEARS. So I think they will list the .us easier then .info. Remember that the .info was FREE last year and people registered over 1,500,000 FREE .info for PPC landing pages and many will not be renewed.

...or Robert's your mother's brother... ;)

Nothing wrong with this domain. It's definitely a 'keeper'. IMHO.

I think you are right! For how little the renewal ($7.00) I have all the time in the world to wait for the right buyer.

Sorry to burst your bubble - my statement proves that no sale above $25k for a .us has occured so far (in the several years of the existance of the .us TLD). You can prove me wrong by actively seeking an end-user with $$$$$ to spend on a domain - you just have to stop getting upset when objective appraisals don't match your biased - due to ownership - pricing.

I would just change that statement to reflect what Duke tries to clarify. No "reported" sale above $25k for a .us has occured so far.

GoBuy, I'm confident you'd have this name sold in 5 figures within 24 hours :approve: if you were so moved.

If you take a look at the keyword 'wall street financial directory', you can see that it is not a competing keyword. so, Google will find whatever they think match the query. But if it is a high keyword, i doubt a country extension will appear in Google seach result easily

Still it's what wallStreet.us is a financial directory and the traffic is good, also I am listed in Yahoo too and get very good traffic. The website pays for ALL 450 domain name renewals every year with GoogleAdSence and the other feeds.

The .com waiting a long time to get xxx, xxx. The .com started in the 80's and there was not a sale in the xxx,xxx till the 90's more that 10 years. The .us is only out a little more than 3 years and there is many xx,xxx already, so I will wait.
