I think that if VOIP.us sold for $25,000 then Computers.us is much more!

I agree - hence $25,000 +

$10k max - in fact, any offer beyond 4 figures for a .us would be considered extreme.

I have to say there has been some amazing .us being shown off.
I love .us

I like art.us a little better. but Im sure the value of this one is more than that.
Don't be given this away the business world know's what they have to pay for other tld's. so they know the value never take less than 25000.

Well, If that is true than all the sales at DnJournal are extreme, with VOIP.us sold for $25,000, industry.us $17,000, CellPhones.us $12,250 , Connect.us $7,500, this is no longer called extreme it's called a trend that is only going up. And none of the sales are even close to what the keyword Computers.us is.

Sorry to burst your bubble - my statement proves that no sale above $25k for a .us has occured so far (in the several years of the existance of the .us TLD). You can prove me wrong by actively seeking an end-user with $$$$$ to spend on a domain - you just have to stop getting upset when objective appraisals don't match your biased - due to ownership - pricing.

Please you need to read some and I am NOT upset just that you have your fact wrong. Go to DnJournal.com then to domain sales and at the bottom of the page you will find the sales of the new TLD section and there you will find that you do not have your fact right. VOIP.us sold for $25,000 and industry.us sold for 17,000 these are the fact.

Yes, those did sell for that much. Why do you think computers.us would sell for more?
Again, prove me wrong by landing a sale. My - always objective - appraisal still stands at $10k.

I would sit on it for a few more years.

Anyone opening a local computer store puts up $100,000 to $250,000 to open shop, computers is a very strong keyword and works with a country domain.

You can only sell it once!

I think that there are two things that make this domain name more valuable, one is that Computer.com sold for $500,000 we know that. We know that .com is KING in the TLD thats why I own 98% of my over 450 are .com's. I think that Computers.us at this time is about !0% of the .com sale. Also I use the Overture # for the value to a domain name keyword,
VOIP that sold for $25,000 has a Overture # 1,178,103, and Computers, has an Overture # 6, 785,686 it,s six(6) times more popular keyword. And number three is in the DnJournal.com out of the five highest sale in the .info, .biz and .us the .us has three and the only other TLD with two is .info. So .us has better sales than .info and .biz at this time. I go by facts only.I have been in the domain name biz since Jan of 1999.

If you're so sure of its value, what do you need the appraisals? Same here, I go by my educated appreciation of the current market and registered my 1st domain in 1997.

The real question is, can you find the buyer that would spend $25k on Computers.us ?
Objectively speaking, judging by the number of .us making the cut (ie, more than $10k) I would say you'd need to be on the phone day and night to tackle that elusive "beast".

It is mathematically possible to hold the domain for several years and try to sell it for as much as possible. But as new TLD's are being introduced, someone would prefer to spend $5k on Computers.in or another country TLD and be done with it.

Frankly, whoever said a computer store would spend $100k - $250k really needs a reality check. There are no more "mom and pop" shops in the US. It's just big stores like Best Buy, CompUSA etc. Most small players are on the web and sell their items from zero inventory, drop-shipping locations. Investing a quarter of a million in inventory will never happen again.

I would expect this to sell in the $XX,XXX. Over 6 million May '05 searches for the term per ovt. Bid click over $3.00. With patience, I believe you'll have a noteworthy sale. Past sales of .US are not indicative of future prices.

I agree with Radistar here. Country domain shouldnt be judge too high as there are more and more extension introduced. PPL who need computer domain will tend to find a domain under TLD, their own country extension or else other extension if the price is too high. Besides, it does not make much difference. Both of them wont show up in global search engine result. Only .com .net .info and .org will do. Thus, buying a domain with country extension for 5 digit will be extreme. Buyer cant expect to have tmuch traffic from SEO
