Looks good,

Does all the traffic come from type ins to mindgem.com or are other names involved?

thanks Rico

most of the traffic is type-in as the software is heavily tied into the site. for example, if someone clicks the "help" tab in the software, a new browser window will open and they are taken to the help section at www.mindgem.com - this counts as a type-in as there is no referrer.

edit

also, i forgot to mention, the site and software have been coded so as to be multi-lingual!

WOW! I just wanted to say excellent setup for a sale. This has to be the most professional presentation for a site sale I have yet to see.

I wish it was January. I would have the money then but currently all capital has to go toward my xmas retailing of videogames. I highly doubt it but if the site is still available in January I would be interested in buying.

Great looking website! My question is why did the profits drop off so much this month from last? you went from over 5k to around 2k..... was there some sort of advertising/promotion that you stopped running?
Also i looked and could not see "profit" I see your revenue but what are the expenses if any?
thanks!

really nice site and do you do graphic design? :p hook me up with pricing :p

what network does mindgem access? Are users anonymous? Can songs be traced back to users downloading them

how come no affiliates are currently active? Have you been promoting your affiliate program? How successful has that been in the past or present?

How many users are usually online at a time on mindgem?

why has income fallen rapidly? Last 9 months you said you made 40k in income

Thanks for the kind words, Searcher, Labrocca, Coolweb23 and Jeff!

So in answer to the questions:

-- edit at request of buyer --
-- edit at request of buyer --

PROFIT
-- edit at request of buyer --

There have been several refund requests / chargebacks which have averaged about $200 per month.
Only other cost is hosting which is minimal (less than $40 per month)

What network does mindgem access?
MindGem connects to the eDonkey network (now the largest P2P network in the world!)
It also can connect to a new, experimental network called Kademlia which is a decentralized and serverless P2P network

Are users anonymous?
If a user wants to be anonymous they can be via the use of proxy servers which MindGem supports. But it is highly not recommended.

Can songs be traced back to users downloading them?
I'm not sure how that would work.

How come no affiliates are currently active?
Have had several affiliates come and go (most are members of DNF), have just not had the enthusiasm to cultivate any long-term relationships.
Our affiliate program has never been successful. It has also never been promoted except in a post or two at this forum and in my signature for a few days.

If I m not an active affilliate why Iam I still sending traffic.

In August you had just on 600 users.
In October just on 800 users.

Now you have over 2000 where have 1200 users come from in the last 3 weeks.

Not a lot adds up here

Hi Loho27,

Below is proof from ClickBank that in over one month only ONE sale was referred by an affiliate.

october 1 to 8: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/clickbank/clickbank-october-1-to-8.gif

october 8 to 15: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/clickbank/clickbank-october-8-to-15.gif

october 15 to 21: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/clickbank/clickbank-october-15-to-21.gif

october 21 to 28: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/clickbank/clickbank-october-21-to-28.gif

october 28 to november 4: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/clickbank/clickbank-october-28-to-nov.gif

Therefore I mentioned we do not have "any active affiliates" and it is true! I stand by that like everything else I have said as a reasonable person will not call one sale in over one month a site with active affiliates.

Below are questions and answers received via PM I think will be of interest:

1) Any gurantees that sales will remain stable? (meaning that site won't just stop selling after a month)
I guarantee that everything I've said and all the information I've provided is honest and accurate. Beyond that how the site performs in the future is out of my control and totally dependant on your ability to maintain the site and interest in it.

2) why are you selling it?
I'm a student about to commence my last year at uni and I do not want to spend the little free time I will have on customer support, database backups etc. Also the money from the sale would come at a great time and since the site's launch I always had the intention to eventually sell it.

3) does it come with the source code to the software?
Yes. The complete source code including libraries is includued and code copyrighted by me is transferable to you. The total source is about +250 MB and I'll either upload it to the site or mail it to the new owner. Because the software is based on open source code and protocols, this part of the software (by law) must be available to the public and is about 4.5 MB.

4) how long can i count on you for support
I'm happy to provide help indefinitely for simple questions relating to the site and software like "how can I change this...", "how do I do..." etc.

5) what are typical problems that you might run into.
The site and software have generally run quite smoothly. It's the member's who have problems like forgetting their username / password, complaining of slow downloads etc.

6) will the software eventually need updating?
Yes. It's not difficult or costly. I could do it or more likely ask a friend to do it for you (for a fee). Or any experienced programmer could do it (it's all standard).

7) will you help with the move if i choose another host?
Yes I can, but I think that if a potential owner does not know how to transfer a site, this site may be a bit overwhelming for them.

8) What is your current high bid on the site?
-- edit at request of buyer --

9) -- edit at request of buyer --

A summary of sales in October paid via PayPal (like displayed in the description for the other months) is only available from PayPal on 15 November. Therefore screenshots of proof of payments via PayPal for october can be viewed here: http://www.mindgem.com/sale/updates/paypal/

Explain this

http://web.archive.org/web/20040212044702/http://mindgem.com/

Site launch 15 March

are these included

http://tmdmovies.com
http://tmdmovie.com
http://tmdmoviez.com
http://tmdmovies.net
http://tmdmoviez.net

You state in your sales pitch on the site

231 new users from February for $1320 average $5.71
251 new users from March for $4960 average $19.76
251 new users from April for $4660 average $18.56
1590 new users from May for $4980 average $3.13
1036 new users fom June for $5884.90 average $5.67
297 new users from July for $5176 average $17.42
329 new users from August for $5860 average $17.81
260 new users from September $5120 average $19.69

How much of the income showing on your receipts is from Mind Gem?

The bullshit has got to stop somewhere.

It's good for potential buyer's you're going through this with a fine comb...

The site was developed in january... the software was offered for a while for free until the end of february when it was turned into a pay site
the page here: http://web.archive.org/web/20040212044702/http://mindgem.com/
was only live for a few days (maybe a week) and according to the archive, this was around February 12 and the launch of the site is not as mentioned.
(March 25 was the target date - actual launch date of the pay site and first sales were on February 22!)

everything i have said can be proved by server statistics and records of member subscriptions and payments which the buyer will have access to FIRST HAND before the sale is complete; that's the purpose of Escrow.

As to the domains mentioned, I have never owned tmdmoviez.com... I used to own tmdmovies.com but sold that. I still own tmdmoviez.net and the typos of it. I did not intend for those domains to be included in this sale (as they do not relate to this website) but if it would seal the deal they can be.

Regarding your calculation of the "average": during May/June there was a third option on the subscription form called "Free Trial". Therefore many more users registered but an increase in revenue is not seen as it was a "free trial".

How much of the income showing on your receipts is from Mind Gem?
ALL OF IT!

pending sale!!!

Hello,

Just a little more

Both of these sites have the same paypal business accounts, and both have the same French problem

http://easyglobalfind.com/mindgem.gif (prior to being disabled)

http://easyglobalfind.com/tmdmoviesnet.gif

The new owner would know doubt appreciate the additional 27000 members from http://tmdmoviez.net

and was this the landing page http://mindgem.com/tmd.html

http://tmdmovies.com before the url was redirected to your affiliate account(tmdmoviez) at http://www.movieadvanced.com

Jeeze I hope they pay there affiliates

The facts are: mindgem's traffic is REAL, its members are REAL, its revenue is REAL and everything I have said is true... the buyer will soon have access to log files since January and everything else "mindgem" since the site went live. He will definitely not find anything wrong!

So Loho27,

You are wrong, again. Everything I have said is true and no fowl play is involved.

The buyer has got a great deal!

The only thing wrong is with PayPal, as you mentioned the payment page is written in French.
I use separate emails on all my sites and it is very easy to distinguish what a payment is for and where it came from. (when I made the screenshots that is exactly what I did!)

1. tmdmoviez.net has no where near 27,000 members (the "local" statistics in the side blocks on both websites are fictional!)... regardless of this, mindgem.com has only had around 13,000 total registrations

2. The PayPal payment form on MindGem has been disabled at request of the buyer.

3. Yes tmdmoviez.net is my site and runs 100% separately from mindgem - it is a stupid site that barely gets any traffic anyway.

4. like I mentioned, I previously sold some domain names that were forwarded to mindgem... tmdmovies.com is one of them (it was actually traded with a friend but that's a different story).

The point is, this sale is 100% truthful, honest, a buyer has been found and the purpose of this thread has been met.
So soon I'm going to be spending a lot of time helping the new owner and would appreciate not having to spend more time with you.

How do you draw the line between "fictional" and "100% truthful, honest".

I have made my point.

you're point is taken and that part of my site (the "local statistics") is misleading, but it really doesn't have a bearing on anything
