I understand your logic, but, to me, it's redundant and just makes it unecessarily longer. Plus, "Cool" is so much more versatile, in my opinion ... to mention nothing of the very new and unproven ".US" at this time.
Limited upside.

Good name, 1st day reg, someone thought it was worthwhile.

Cool(est) is still in use to describe something that is interesting, exciting, or "neat" (this one is done for).

Others have come and gone, such as rad, hip, chic, hot, awesome. Pop culture is hard to keep up with.

I would look for coolest.us to go for $100+ to an interested buyer.
 
Any more thoughts... certainly brandable and memorable?
