To be frank, FordMotors.US is worth at least US$5,000, but that's the amount you're going to pay OUT to retain a decent lawyer that is capable of dealing with big guys like Ford. Many who have commented here are experienced domain investors; you may choose to listen to them or learn the lesson the hard way. Sorry for the bluntness folk, but that's the truth. Good luck.

Well, very few .us names are worth 5K or more undeveloped...I don't think FordMotors.us is worth more than a few hundred undeveloped.

I wouldn't let it get to that point, if it's that important to Ford to own this name (or me not owning it) I'll give it to them. The first notice they send will be the only one, I'll be out $6.95. But they could be out thousands. What if I put up a legitimate site called CarDealersThatRipYouOff.com and then have a forum like this that people post car dealer scams and there is a Forum for Ford Dealers. How many car sales might they lose form that. And you know as well as I do, there are more Dealer scams then there are domain resale scammers.

FordMotors.US as it stands is promoting the Ford name not degrading it. But that's for Ford to decide.
