Posting these here just to see if anyone think they have potential a few years down the road and if they're worth keeping until civilian space travel becomes a reality.

MoonAirport.com
SpaceAirports.com

Maybe the word 'airport' won't be used then, maybe it will be 'spaceport' or 'spacebase' or whatever, who knows. I'm not risking much anyways cause these only cost me the reg fee.

Thanks for your opinions.

Too far in the future for me.Not much if any value in the near future but maybe 30 years from now?

Yup they will be called 'Spaceports' instead of 'Airports'. :-(

So I went ahead and snagged:

MoonSpaceport.com
EarthSpaceport.com

do you think .com, or the internet will be as we now know it in 10 years, let alone 30??

Do you think by the time people will be using spaceports, we will be typing in the letters, .com in a browser???

Why don't we have a 'www.' and a '.com' button on our keyboards - thought that would be a gimmick that at least some people would have done by now!!

by the time we have spaceports and are up and about travelling in space, I hardly think we'll be using keyboards.
I am sure the internet will be very different, IF it is stil called the internet or www...
we'd probably be speaking to our computers, and I doubt www or .com would mean anything then.
Thats why very very very long term domains (time is relative, but in this business 10 years is very long, or 20...), are IMHO worth reg fee at best (since you'll be renewing for all those years)

Civilian space travel is closer than you think, as low as 2-5 years if all goes well with Virgin's SpaceShipOne. There are already a few 'spaceports' in the U.S. currently being used for spaceship tests. OK, maybe I went a little far as to expect a spaceport in the moon in the near future :-D but there will definately be civilians orbiting the earth in a few of years time.

Yes there will be a few people wealthy enough to travel into space however you're talking a LONG time before there will be a need for "spaceports" if we end up calling them that.

There are a number of commercial spaceports in operation now - they're used to launch satellites and such. Vandenberg AFB calls the complex formerly known as SLC-6 (Space Launch Complex 6) the "Vandenberg Spaceport," for example.

MoonSpaceport is a terrible name, though.

I suggest that it will be called "Luna Base" or "Luna Spaceport" or even "Port Luna"

The LEO spaceport will most likely be called a transfer station or jump port, and will surely be named after whatever company creates it.

Virgin Jumpport or United Transfer Station.

Yes, thats my point.
Jar, I am not trying to undervalue your domains, I am just saying that long into the future, it isnt speculation, nor risk taking, it is, well...
sorry.

Really, 'Luna'? I would think 'Lunar' would make more sense, but english is my second language so maybe I'm missing something here. :-)

Seeker, no problem, I wasn't looking for an appraisal, and really I don't have any problem paying a mere $8.88 per year for a few years, if it's indeed worth it. I already registered a couple more realistic spaceport related domains that I intend to develop. I'll definately get rid of MoonAirport.com and SpaceAirports.com though!
