I am planning on developing CouponList.com, however, I am not a programmer. I need some assistance or someone that would like to partner with me on developing this site.

It will be a discounts/bargains website, where people can search through coupon codes for various sites based on Store Name, Category, and etc.

We make money through commissions. I am willing to pay for hosting monthly. I can split the commissions with you. Just need an experienced person to come up with a nice php script that will allow for searching, and adding of coupons.

Thanks

why not just put up a basic site listing the coupons by company? You could do it in frontpage.

yes, but I would have to manually update it daily.
Besides, I cannot provide proper searching.

daily? I would take the easy route until the site is built up and has a good amount of requent visitors........i would just list them by company name.......most coupons last at leasta month, so no need for the daily updates.

if im honest then it probably wouldnt be worth my time as if i designed the php script and the site etc i would be as well as just doing it all myself

would you be heavily promoting it or something :)

hey mantra,

I like the domain CouponList.com and the idea sounds fair.

I would like to work with you. I can do all the scripting (doesn't really sound like a lot to me ), whether we get hosting with or without mySQL doesn't really matter as the amount of coupons would be relatively limited anyway (and so it wouldn't hurt to just use txt files for data). However as for scripts I am most experienced in (and do prefer) php - mostly because I'm a C++ programmer as well so php is eaaaaasy hehe.

Some things though.. I cannot design sites that look very well and I cannot produce ANY graphics worth looking at. SO either you'ed need to do that or we'ed need more help.

Some examples:
http://www.moviecodec.com/ (contains a php message board with flat file storage, pregenrated html files that google likes to index)
http://lorn.com/ (contains a message board based on php&mysql also with pregenerated html files - under construction, may close it down again :)

Pls email me if you are interested: [email protected]

hey beowulf,

I am interested. I can do the graphics part. I just really needed the backend. I can get hosting with mysql database, so that will be great.

Please contact me if your really interested.

Thanks

I think the search coupons funtion is not working or not finished yet.

Otherwise it looks good ..
I hope to have the design part done shortly.

Thanks

Aye I am aware that the search feature does not work correctly. Currently it is a simple like '%term%' sql query. I know I need to use MATCH(fieldname) AGAINST ('term') but for some reason when I use that it returns absolutely nothing :/
