I know that it is impossible to really appraise these .in domains now - but given the special status of cows in India I thought this might eventually have value. Cows.in was not even pre-regged.

Like the thinking behind that. Saw that domain earlier but wasn't one of the ones we registered. Managed another 1000 though so it will be interesting to see what happens. Good Luck to you

I wonder if the religious connotation of cows in India would make cows.in a good one or a "no-no"?

Cows.in wont be worth anything, why would anyone visit cows.in ..

I'm just hoping that it will make it a "type-in" - and that I can find a way to monetize Indian traffic.

Maybe nobody will. In the U.S. people think of "sacred cows" in association with India. In other parts of the world, (including India?) it may not make any sense.
